The SSC Junior Engineer Examination is organized by the SSC. The aim of this exam is to recruit Junior Engineers to the various branches of engineering such as Civil, Electrical and Mechanical. The applicants who are selected are posted at either of the offices that include Water commission, Central Water Power Research Station, Central Public Works Department, Farrakka Barrage Project, Quality Assurance Naval, etc. Desiring applicants can apply for the exam in online mode through the official website. This exam is organized yearly.

The Staff Selection Commission hires staff in the various Ministries and Departments of the Government of India and in Subordinate Offices. It is an organisation under the Government of India. Junior Engineer Examination is held on a yearly basis by the SSC to hire eligible and desiring applicants for the various posts.

SSC Junior Engineer Selection ProcedureThe SSC Junior Engineer Examination is conducted in three stages:

  • PrreliminaryTest

  • Mains Test

  • Document Verification

SSC Junior Engineer Exam Pattern:

Online Test: The Online test consists of two papers i.e. Paper I and Paper II. Paper I consists of Objective Type questions only and Paper-II contains descriptive type questions.

Note:- 

  • There is a provision of negative marking. 0.25 marks get deducted for each wrong answer.

  • The total time duration of Paper-1 is 2 hours (120 minutes)

  • In the General Engineering section, the candidates have to solve the part of the paper as per their engineering branch.

Ques 1. Is Registration mandatory for applying to the SSC exam?

Ans. Yes, One Time Registration with the SSC Commission is mandatory. Candidates can apply online for any examination after completing the online registration.

Ques 2. Can a candidate make the changes after completing the registration?

Ans. Yes, by clicking on 'Modify Registration' candidates can change the information.

Ques 3. What should be the size of the photo and signature while applying for one-time registration?

Ans. The size of the photograph should be 20 KB to 50 KB and the photograph should be about 4.5 cm (height) by 3.5 cm (width). The size of the signature file must be ranging from 10 KB to 20 KB and the dimension must be 3.0 cm (height) by 4.0 cm (width).
