The Army Institute of Fashion and Design Written Admission Test is also known as AIFD WAT. It is conducted by the Army Institute of Fashion and Design which is a national level examination. The exam is held once a year for admission of candidates in AIFD for Undergraduate course in Fashion & Apparel Design. AIFD WAT is conducted in Offline mode.

Selection Procedure: There is only one stage in AIFD WAT for candidates to qualify for admission:

Exam Pattern: The examination is conducted Offline. The question paper contains two sections namely Part A and Part B where Part A comprises objective type questions and Part B comprises Design and Drawing skill questions. • Candidates must possess a minimum of 35% aggregate marks in the qualifying exam.

• Candidates must be Physically and Mentally Fit. A form that is enclosed with the prospectus, is to be submitted after getting it attested by a Medical Practitioner or a designated Govt. Officer.

- Reserved Category: Following are the candidates who can apply under reserved category (For more information regarding this candidates are advised to refer the website):-

• Wards of serving Army personnel (service of min. 10 years)

• Wards of Ex-Army personnel

• Wards of Widows of Army personnel/War Widows.

Syllabus:

- Sketch, Design, Drawing and Essay Writing:

• Sketching similar to the image shown in the Test paper

• Designing any image of Ring, Dress, Necklace, Pendant and Hat in different geometric shapes

• Drawing based on a given scene like Raining, Nature, Crowd, Restaurant, Temple, Bus Stop, Garden, etc.

• Essay writing (descriptive).
