What is APAAR?

The Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry (APAAR) initiative, aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) of 2020 and the National Credit and Qualifications Framework (NCrF), aims to revolutionize the academic journey of students in India. Each student receives a unique and permanent 12-digit APAAR ID, facilitating centralized access to their educational records and accomplishments.

The conference also discussed initiatives like the Holistic Progress Card and Vidya Samiksha Kendra, highlighting their connection to APAAR and their contributions to enhancing the educational landscape in India.

Pradhan emphasized the seamless integration of APAAR IDs with other digital platforms such as the Academic Bank of Credit and Digilocker, streamlining educational operations. He also highlighted the role of digital resources like Swayam and DIKSHA in enhancing educational quality.

With APAAR facilitating the tracking of 260 million students nationwide and issuance of Permanent Education Numbers to 25 crore children, the initiative prioritizes ensuring a seamless schooling experience, aligning with Prime Minister Modi's vision of ease of living.
