Overview

IGNOU, a Indira Gandhi National Open University, is a central university located in New Delhi, India. IGNOU University is run by the central government of India and also claims to be the largest university in the world. IGNOU also aims to encourage, coordinate and set standards for distance and open education programmes in India, and to strengthen the human resources of India through education.

OPENMAT is a national level entrance examination for admissions to MBA/PGDM courses offered at the School of Management Studies, IGNOU.

Conducting Body: OPENMAT also known as IGNOU Open Management Aptitude Test is conducted by NTA on behalf of IGNOU. The exam is conducted twice a year i.e. in July and January and is a Computer Based Test.

Selection Procedure: There is only one stage in OPENMAT for candidates to qualify for admission:

• Objective Test

Exam Pattern: The examination is conducted in Online mode and contains Objective Type questions. The total no. questions are 200 and the total marks are 200 marks. Each question carries 1 mark. The total time duration of the examination is 03 hours. The medium of the examination is English only. The following table explains the paper pattern in detail:-

The application form can be filled in Online mode. Candidates desirous to apply for the test can apply in Online mode from the official website. Following are the steps to apply that must be followed while filling the form:

• Registration: Visit the official website at ignouexams.nta.nic.in and register for the test. Fill in the basic information. After providing these pieces of information, click on the Register button.

• Verification: Once the registration button is clicked, an email is sent on the provided i.d to verify. The registration process is completed only after verification.

• Application Form Filling: Again login with the provided credentials and fill the application form.

• Uploading Documents: Upload the scanned copies of the documents. The candidates must submit all the required documents (Photograph and Signature).

• Payment of application fee: The last step is the payment and to apply successfully, the payment must be made.
