Institute of Hotel Management, Aurangabad also known as IHM-A is a hotel management school located in Aurangabad, Maharashtra, India. Established in 1989 by Maulana Azad Education Trust, the institute is associated with Taj Group. IHM-A is approved by All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi and is affiliated to University of Huddersfield.  IHM-A offers Bachelor of Arts(Honours) in Culinary Arts and Hotel Management.

Conducting Body: The Institute of Hotel Management, Aurangabad conducts the IHM Aurangabad Entrance Test for admissions to the desirous candidates who wish to continue their study in Hotel Management. IHM conducts the entrance exam annually.

Selection Procedure:- The selection procedure is carried out in three different stages:

• Online Profiling Test.
• Group Discussion & SOP Writing
• Personal Interview

Exam Pattern:

- Online Profiling Test: 

• The first step for the test is registration. Candidates can register online for the test and after registration fees must be paid. The application fee is 1500/- for both the courses (Culinary Arts and Hotel Management). 
• Once the registration process is done a link is sent to the registered e-mail id of the applicant. The applicants need to click the link and complete the mentioned test/fields.
• After the completion of the test, immediately an assessment report is provided to the applicant.
• The main objective of the test is to develop a better understanding of strengths/weaknesses of the candidates so they are prepared for the Group Discussion and Personal Interview round.

- Statement of Purpose:

• Candidates are asked to write a Statement of Purpose of 1500 words. The topic for the Statement of Purpose usually is - "perspective on the role the education at IHM-A plays in shaping the future by creating a vibrant personality who would succeed in the hospitality world".

- Group Discussion and Personal Interview round:

The GD/PI round for IHM Aurangabad admissions is held at Taj Group Hotels located at New Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai and at IHM-A campus itself. Aspirants are judged on the following parameters in the PI round:

• Analytical Skills
• Communication Skills
• General Awareness
• Personality Factors
• Service Orientation

NOTE: For the Interview round candidates are also advised to strictly follow the dress code as prescribed by IHM-A authorities:

• MEN - Formal attire:- Suit, Jacket/Blazer, Trousers, Shirt (full sleeved), Neck Tie and Shoes.
• Ladies - Formal attire:-  Sarees or Business Suits, Shirt (full sleeved), Formal Ensembles, Scarves and Shoes.

Weightage of each section:

• Educational Qualification:- 10+2 or equivalent with English as the medium of instructions.

Ques 1. From where can a candidate get the information regarding the IHM-A Entrance exam?

Ans. A candidate can get the information from the official website. Application forms are released every year in the month of March/April.

 Ques 2. How can a candidate apply for IHM-A Entrance?

Ans. Candidates can apply in Online mode for the exam.

 Ques 3. Is it mandatory to mention the test centres preference while filling the form?

Ans. Yes, candidates need to fill the test centre preference and following are the centres from which candidates can select the centre:

Ans. Yes a candidate appearing in the final year can apply for the exam but the required documents must be produced whenever asked.

 Ques 12. Is there any way to change the centre once the form is submitted?

Ans. No changes can be made once the form is submitted and the fee is paid.
