Indian Statistical Institute,held  ISI Admission Test( Indian Statistical Institute Admission Test) . Admission to the academic programmes managed at the Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata. ISI is strictly based on the merits which is evaluated from the performance of the applicants in ISI admission tests and interviews. The past academic records of the applicants are also taken into consideration for the evaluation of the performance. 

Conducting Body: ISI Admission Test is held by the Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata for providing admissions to its various Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses. The test is held annually in different centers across India  for applicants who want to continue their study in B.Stat./B.Math.

Important Dates:

Selection Procedure:- The selection of the applicants is done on the basis of their performances in the following sections:

• Written Test

• Interview

Exam Pattern:

-Written Test:- The written test consists of 2 parts and is held in Offline mode. The total time allotted for each part is 2 hours.

- Part-1: The first part of the examination (conducted in the forenoon) consists of Objective type questions carrying 30 questions of 120 marks. There is no provision of Negative marking.

Note:- 4 Marks shall be awarded for each correct response. 1 mark shall be awarded for each unattempted question, and 0 marks will be awarded for each wrong answer.

- Part-2: The second part consists of 8 Descriptive type questions of 10 marks each(conducted in the forenoon).

Interview: On the basis of the applicants' performance in the written Test, the list of eligible applicants is prepared for the final interview round at the India Statistical Institute, North-East Centre-Tezpur. Selected candidates are asked to download their call letters and attend the interview in person as per the scheduled dates and time.

• For B.Math:- 10+2 or equivalent with Mathematics and English as subjects.

• Geometry of 2 dimensions with polar coordinates and Cartesian.
