Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical  Sciences is a medical institute in Lucknow, India. Established in 1983 and named after Sanjay Gandhi, The institute is established under State Legislature Act and offer it's own degrees recognized by the Medical Council of India. The institute delivers super speciality teaching, training, research and tertiary medical facilities and offers DM,  MCh, MD, Ph.D., Fellowships &  Postdoctoral certificate courses and B.Sc Nursing 4 year course. 

Conducting Body: Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences conducts the SGPGI Entrance exam for various UG/PG/Diploma/Fellowship programs offered by the Institute. The SGPGI Entrance is conducted every year. The following mentioned detail is regarding the B.Sc Nursing course.

Selection Procedure: There two stages in SGPGI Entrance exam for candidates to qualify for admissions:

• Medical Examination

Exam Pattern: The examination is conducted in Online mode and contains Objective type questions. There are five sections in the exam namely Physics, Chemistry, Biology, General Knowledge and English having 20 questions for each section. The medium in which the exam is conducted is English. The time duration of the examination is 2 hours. The following table explains the paper pattern:

Medical Examination: The qualified candidates are invited for medical examination failing which renders the candidate unfit and unfit candidates are not admitted. However, the selection of the candidate is based on the marks obtained in the entrance test.

The application form can be filled in Online mode but the form must be submitted in offline mode at Nodal Officer, College of Technology and Allied Health Science, SGPGIMS, Rai Bareli Road, Lucknow-226014. Following are the steps to apply that must be followed while filling the form:

• Candidates are required to visit the website and fill the application form. The form must be filled in online mode.

• After the online submission, candidates must take a print out of the duly filled form and send it at aforementioned address along with the required documents which are age document, qualification document, sponsorship, caste document etc. The documents must have the candidate's signature.
