Overview

Technothlon is a school championship organized by the IIT Guwahati's student fraternity. Started with an aim to Inspire Young Minds, the test is organized at an international level for school students. It consists of teams (having two students in each team) and is held in two rounds: Prelims (which is conducted at various centers across the Nation) and Mains (which is conducted at IIT Guwahati). The test is only for students studying from class 9th to class 12th. The winning team is awarded a trip to NASA and the runner-up team is rewarded with an ISRO trip.

Technothlon Conducting Body: 

This International championship is conducted by the students of IIT Guwahati. The test is conducted Annually and in Offline mode.

Technothlon Selection Procedure: The test is conducted in two following rounds:

• Prelims

• Mains

- To compete in these rounds, students are divided into two groups: Junior and Hauts squads.

• Junior Squad: Students studying in 9th and 10th classes take part under this squad.

• Hauts Squad: Students studying in 11th and 12th classes take part under this squad.

• The members of the team are not required to be of the same class but they must be of the same institution/school.

Technothlon Exam Pattern:

For PRE:- This section is conducted in a written mode in schools all over India to test students Analytical and Logical thinking skills. The total time duration for this section is 02 hours and 30 minutes. The questions are asked from Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning and some other similar topics. Both members of all the teams are given the same paper and they are allowed to answer after discussion. 

For Mains:- This section is conducted in Events and is held at the same time as the Techno Management Festival of IIT Guwahati- TECHNICHE. The events are designed to test the students' imagination and innovation. The top 50 qualified students from both the teams are invited for this part. The students winning these events are announced the winners of the Technothlon championship. Students are also encouraged to take part in the numerous competitions, workshops, lectures and other performances of Techniche. 

Technothlon Eligibility Criteria:

• Educational Criteria: Only students studying in class 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th are eligible to apply.

• Age Limit: There is no age limit.
