West Bengal Civil Services (WBCS)  Exam Pattern:

Preliminary Exam:- The preliminary examination is of qualifying nature and is conducted offline. There is only One Paper in the prelims examination which consists of 8 sections of Objective type questions, having 25 questions of 1 mark each. The total time duration of the examination is two and a half hours. The examination pattern of the preliminary examination is as follows:-

Mains Exam:- The candidates who are shortlisted from the preliminary examination are allowed to sit for the mains examination.  Mains examination has papers of Objective as well as of Descriptive nature. There are  7 papers in the Mains Examination. The first two papers are on Languages. The next two papers on which candidates have to write an essay. The last three papers related to General Studies. The exam pattern is as follows:
