Zonal Informatics Olympiad, also known as ZIO, is a competition for all students, who are enrolled in school, to test their knowledge abilities in Computer Science subject. ZIO promotes Computer Science from school to National and International level by recognizing their merits. The students after qualifying the ZIO can appear for INOI (Indian National Olympiad in Informatics).

The Indian Association for Research in Computing Science conducts the Zonal Informatics Olympiad (ZIO) to test and promote the knowledge of Computer Science subject. The aim of IARCS is to promote excellence in Computing. The Zonal Informatics Olympiad is conducted in online mode and once in a year.

The exam is conducted in Online mode. The total time duration is 03 hours for the test. The exam is conducted in the English language. The questions are objective type. The examination is suitable for students studying through  State Board/ CBSE/ ICSE/ ISC. The detailed exam pattern is as follows:-
