West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) Selection Procedure

Selection Procedure: There is only one stage in WBJEE.

  • Written Test

Exam PatternThe examination is held in Offline mode and contain Objective Type Questions. WBJEE question paper comprises three sections namely Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The question paper carries a total of 155 questions against 200 marks. The paper is held in English and Bengali languages. There are two categories of papers for candidates i.e.(Mathematics) and [Physics and Chemistry (combined)]. The total time duration is 120 minutes for each paper i.e. Paper 1 and Paper 2.

Note:

- Negative Marking:

  • Category 1: 0.25 marks from the total allotted mark gets deducted.

  • Category 2: 0.50 marks from the total allotted mark gets deducted.

  • Category 3: No Negative Marking in category 3. There can be more than one correct answer in the options.

- Categories:

  • There are two categories of papers for applicants i.e. (Mathematics) and [Physics and Chemistry (combined)].

  • Applicants interested in Technology/ Engineering/ Architecture Courses need to appear in both Paper-I and Paper-II

  • Applicants interested in the Pharmacy Course of the Jadavpur University need to appear in both Paper-I and Paper-II.

  • Applicants interested in Pharmacy Course other than that of the Jadavpur University, appearing in Paper 1 (Mathematics) is not compulsory. Marks in Paper 2 (Physics and Chemistry) only shall be considered.

  • Students appearing in both Paper-I and Paper-II are also eligible for admission to the Pharmacy course.
