Overview
JK TET (Jammu & Kashmir Teacher Eligibility Test) is organized by the Jammu & Kashmir Education Board. The aim of this exam is to hire eligible applicants for the posts of teacher in the U.T of Jammu and Kashmir.
Jammu & Kashmir Teacher Eligibility Test Conducting Body:
JKSBSE or JK SBOSE which is also known as the Jammu and Kashmir State Board of School Education is the chief board of school education the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. It is suitated in Jammu & Srinagar and is a self governing body under the authority of the state government of Jammu and Kashmir.The board gives affiliation to more than 10200 schools in the state and 22856 teachers.

Jammu & Kashmir Teacher Eligibility Test Selection Procedure:
Candidates will be shortlisted from the score secured in the Jammu and Kashmir TET 2019. The merit list is prepared based on the category wise cut off marks.Multiple choice type questions are asked in the exam. Each question is for one mark and there is no negative marking. There are two papers in the exam i.e. Paper I and Paper II in which 150 questions are asked. Candidates have to complete the exam in 1 and a half hours.

Jammu & Kashmir Teacher Eligibility Test Eligibility Criteria:
Educational Qualification:
The candidates should pass the upper Secondary examination with at least 50 marks.
It is a relaxation of 45 marks if the applicants belong to a reserved class.
1./ Senior Secondary/Higher Secondary (or it's equivalent 10+2) with a minimum 50% score and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.EI.ED)
OR
2.Higher Secondary / Senior Secondary (or it's equivalent 10+2) with a minimum 50% result and 4 years Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.EI.ED).
OR
3. Higher Secondary / Senior Secondary (or it's equivalent 10+2) with a minimum 50% score and having a Diploma in Education (Special Education), approved by the Rehabilitation Council of India(RCI).
OR
4. 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.EI.ED) or Graduation.
Age Criteria: Applicants should be between 18 to 40 years.

Child Development Pedagogy: Child Development (Primary School Children): Understanding Children with the special needs, Concept of Inclusive Education and Learning Pedagogy
Mathematics: Shapes, Algebra, Mensuration, Geometry, Arithmetic, Numbers and Spatial Understanding
Language I: Perception-based questions for language development
Language II (English): Understanding based question in English and advancement of language
Social Sciences/Social Studies: Social and Political Life Geography,History. etc
Environmental Studies: Habitats Water, Natural Resources, Solar System, Air, Parts of Body, Food Resource and Care, Our Surroundings

Ques 1. What is the valid period of the Jammu Kashmir TET passing certificate?
Ans: The valid period of the JK TET qualifying certificate is seven years for all the categories.
Ques 2. What is the number of attempts I can appear for the exam?
Ans: There is no limitation on the number of trials a person can take to pass JK TET. A person who has qualified JK TET may also reappear for improving his/her score.

Ques 4. I want to apply for Jammu Kashmir TET. So, I need to know about the age limit?
Ans: Age limit to apply for the exam:

General male and female- 35 years.

OBC male and female-38 years.

SC / ST male and female-42 years.
However, relaxation of 3 years is given to OBC applicants and 5 years to SC/ ST applicants.
Ques 5. Is there any negative marking?
Ans: No, there is no negative marking.
Ques 6. If I clear JK TET and still in my final year of Bachelor's Degree, am I eligible to apply?
Ans: Candidates who are appearing in the final year of Bachelor Degree in Education or Diploma in Elementary Education etc. are temporarily admitted and their JK TET Certificate shall be confirmed only on passing the aforesaid Examinations.
Ques 7. Is there any relaxation in the qualifying marks for SC/ST?
Ans: Sc/ST/OBC/Differently Abled Category candidates have the advantage of 5% relaxation in marks.
Ques 8. What is the minimum score to qualify the Jammu Kashmir TET exam?
Ans: Applicants need to score a minimum of 60% marks in Jammu Kashmir TET to qualify in the examination.
Ques 9. Is a B.Com B.Ed student eligible for the Jammu Kashmir TET?
Ans: If you have 4 years of Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.EI.ED) degree than you are eligible for the exam.
Ques 10. What is the date of the exam and how can I apply?
Ans. The tentative date of the exam is in June. The authorities announce the release of the JK TET application form online in April tentatively.
