Overview
Jharkhand Teachers Eligibility Test is organized by the Jharkhand Academic Council. The purpose of this exam is to hire eligible applicants for the posts of teachers for primary level (classes 1 to 5) and upper primary level (classes 6 to 8) in Government and private schools of Jharkhand. Eligible and desiring applicants have a good chance to make their careers as teachers in the schools of Jharkhand.
Jharkhand Teachers Eligibility Test Conducting Body:
Jharkhand State Govt. established the Jharkhand Academic Council on 26.12.2003. The purpose of establishing Jharkhand Academic Council was to carry out examinations at the end of Intermediate, Education, Secondary Education, Sanskrit Education and Madrasa Education and for instructing courses of education for the above mentioned tests and for advocating for acceptance of Intermediate Educational Institutions, High Schools, Sanskrit Schools and Madrasas to the State Government.

Jharkhand Teachers Eligibility Test Selection Procedure:
Candidates will be shortlisted from the score secured in the Jharkhand TET 2019. The final list is prepared based on the category wise cut off marks.Multiple choice type questions are asked in the exam. Every question is for 1 mark and there is no negative marking. There are two papers in the exam i.e. Paper I and Paper II in which 150 questions are asked. Applicants have to complete the exam in 1 and a half hours.

Jharkhand Teachers Eligibility Test Eligibility Criteria:
Educational Qualification:
The candidates should finish the upper Secondary examination with a minimum of 50 marks.
The relaxation of 45 marks if the applicants belong to a reserved class.
1.Higher Secondary / Senior Secondary (or it's equivalent 10+2) with a minimum of 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.EI.ED)
OR
2.Senior Secondary /Higher Secondary (or it's equivalent 10+2) with at least 50% marks result and 4 years Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.EI.ED).
OR
3. Higher Secondary / Senior Secondary (or it's equivalent 10+2) with a minimum 50% score and having a Diploma in Education (Special Education), approved by the Rehabilitation Council of India(RCI).
OR
4. Two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.EI.ED) or Graduation.
Age Criteria: Applicants should be at least 18 to a maximum age of 40 years.
Jharkhand Teachers Eligibility Test Syllabus:
Child Development Pedagogy: Child Development (Primary School Children): Understanding Children with the special needs, Concept of Inclusive Education and Learning Pedagogy
Mathematics: Numbers, Geometry, Mensuration, Arithmetic, Algebra, Shapes, and Spatial Understanding
Language I: Perception-based questions for language development
Language II (English): Understanding based question in English and advancement of language
Social Sciences/Social Studies: History,Political and Social Life Geography, etc
Environmental Studies: Habitats,Water, Natural Resources, Solar System, Air, Parts of Body, Food Resource and Care, Our Surroundings

Ques 1. I want to apply for Jharkhand TET. So, I need to know about the age limit for applying?
Ans: Age limit to apply for Jharkhand TET:

General male and female- 35 years.

OBC male and female-38 years.
-
SC / ST male and female-42 years.
However, relaxation of 3 years is given to OBC applicants and 5 years to ST/SC applicants.
Ques 2. Is there any relaxation in the marks for SC/ST?
Ans: Sc/ST/OBC/Differently Abled Category applicants have the advantage of 5% relaxation in marks.
Ques 3. I have complete a diploma in elementary education may I eligible for secondary teacher exam?
Ans: Yes you are eligible. The candidate who has Senior Secondary / Higher Secondary (or it's equivalent 10+2) with a minimum of 50% marks and has finished a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.EI.ED) can apply.

Ans. Yes, Application correction which is notified through a circular.
Ques 5. What type of question can I expect in the Paper-II of the exam?
Ans: The questions in the tests for Paper II will be based on the subjects of the prescribed syllabus of the Jharkhand State for classes VI-VIII but the difficulty standard could be up to the senior secondary stage.
Ques 6. What are the minimum marks to qualify?
Ans. The criteria for considering pass in Jharkhand TET is as follows:
a) OC 60% Marks and above
b) BC 50% Marks and above
c) SC 40% Marks and above
d) ST 40% Marks and above
e) Differently-abled (PH) 40% Marks and above
Ques 7. I am from Goa, am I eligible to apply for Jharkhand TET?
Ans. No, only permanent residents from Jharkhand are eligible to appear in the exam.
Ques 8. Is a B.Com B.Ed student eligible for the Jharkhand TET?
Ans: If you have 4 years of Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.EI.ED) degree than you are eligible for Jharkhand TET.
Ques 9. Does a BCA student apply for Jharkhand TET?
Ans. No, besides graduation, the candidates must also have done B.Ed/B.El.Ed from a recognized university.
Ques 10. Can I edit my application form after the submission?
Ans. Yes, there is a provision of application correction which is notified through a circular. The time and date completely depend on the official authority who conducts the exam.
