Overview
Meghalaya Teachers Eligibility Test is organized by the Directorate of Educational Research & Training (DERT). The exam is held for the employment of eligible applicants as teachers for classes 1 to 8 in government, private & public schools in the state. Eligible and aspiring applicants can make their careers as teachers in the schools of Meghalaya.

Meghalaya Teachers Eligibility Test Selection Procedure:
Candidates will be shortlisted from the score secured in the Meghalaya TET 2019. The final merit list is prepared based on the category wise cut off marks. Multiple choice type questions are asked in the exam. Each question is for one mark and there is no negative marking. There are two papers in the exam i.e. Paper I and Paper II in which 150 questions are asked. Candidates have to complete the exam in 1 and a half hours

Meghalaya Teachers Eligibility Test Eligibility Criteria:
Educational Qualification:
The candidates should pass the upper Secondary examination with at least 50 marks.
There is a relaxation of 45 marks if the applicants belong to a reserved class.
1.Higher Secondary / Senior Secondary (or it's equivalent 10+2) with a minimum 50% score and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.EI.ED)
OR
2. / Senior Secondary (or it's equivalent 10+2) with a minimum 50% result and 4 years Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.EI.ED).
OR
3. Senior Secondary/Higher Secondary (or it's equivalent 10+2) with a minimum 50% score and having a Diploma in Education (Special Education), approved by the Rehabilitation Council of India(RCI).
OR
4. 2 year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.EI.ED) or Graduation.
Age Criteria: Candidates should be between 18 to 40 years.
Meghalaya Teachers Eligibility Test Syllabus:
Child Development Pedagogy: Child Development (Primary School Children): Understanding Children with the special needs, Concept of Inclusive Education and Learning Pedagogy
Mathematics: Shapes, Algebra, Mensuration, Geometry, Arithmetic, Numbers and Spatial Understanding
Language I: Perception-based questions for language development
Language II (English): Understanding based question in English and advancement of language
Social Sciences/Social Studies: Social and Political Life Geography,History etc
Environmental Studies: Water, Habitats, Natural Resources, Solar System, Air, Parts of Body, Food Resource and Care, Our Surroundings

Ques 1. Is there any relaxation in the qualifying marks for ST/SC?
Ans: Sc/ST/OBC/Differently Abled Category candidates have the advantage of 5% relaxation in marks.
Ques 2. I want to apply for Meghalaya TET. So, I need to know about the age limit?
Ans: Age limit to apply for Meghalaya TET:

General male and female- 35 years.

OBC male and female-38 years.

SC / ST male and female-42 years.
However, relaxation of 3 years is given to OBC applicants and 5 years to SC/ ST applicants.

Ques 4. What type of question can I expect in the Paper-II of the Meghalaya TET exam?
Ans: The questions in the tests for Paper II will be based on the subjects of the prescribed syllabus of the Meghalaya State for classes VI to VIII but the difficulty standard could be up to the senior secondary stage.

Ans. The criteria for considering pass in Meghalaya TET is as follows:
a) OC 60% Marks and above
b) BC 50% Marks and above
c) SC 40% Marks and above
d) ST 40% Marks and above
e) Differently-abled (PH) 40% Marks and above
Ques 7. Does a BCA student apply for Meghalaya TET?
Ans. No, besides graduation, the candidates must also have done B.Ed/B.El.Ed from a recognized university.
Ques 8. If I clear Meghalaya TET and still in my final year of Bachelor's Degree, am I eligible to apply?
Ans: Candidates who are appearing in the final year of Bachelor's Degree in Education or Diploma in Elementary Education etc. are temporarily admitted and their Meghalaya TET Certificate shall be confirmed only on passing the aforesaid Examinations.
Ques 9. Is a B.Com B.Ed student eligible for the Meghalaya TET?
Ans: If you have 4 years of Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.EI.ED) degree than you are eligible for Meghalaya TET.
Ques 10. I have done a diploma in elementary education may I eligible for secondary teacher exam?
Ans: Yes you are eligible. The applicants who has Senior Secondary / Higher Secondary (or it's equivalent 10+2) with a minimum of 50% marks and has finished a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.EI.ED) can apply.
