Overview

Nagaland TET is organized by the Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE). The exam is held for the employment of eligible applicants for the posts of teacher for Class I to V (Lower Primary Teacher) Class VI to VIII (Upper Primary Teacher) Class IX to X (Graduate Teacher). Eligible applicants can make their careers as teachers in the schools of Nagaland.

Nagaland Teacher Eligibility Test Selection Procedure:

Candidates will be shortlisted from the score secured in the Nagaland TET 2019. The final list is prepared based on the category wise cut off marks. Multiple choice type questions are asked in the exam. Each question is for one mark and there is no negative marking. There are two papers in the exam i.e. Paper I and Paper II in which 150 questions are asked. Candidates have to complete the exam in 1 and ahalf hours.

Nagaland Teacher Eligibility Test Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualification:

The candidates should pass the upper Secondary examination with at least 50 marks.

It is a relaxation of 45 marks if the candidates belong to a reserved class.

1.Senior Secondary / Higher  Secondary (or it's equivalent 10+2) with a minimum 50% score and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.EI.ED)

OR

2.Senior Secondary / Higher Secondary (or it's equivalent 10+2) with a minimum 50% result and 4 years Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.EI.ED).

OR

3. Higher Secondary / Senior Secondary (or it's equivalent 10+2) with a minimum 50% score and having a Diploma in Education (Special Education), approved by the Rehabilitation Council of India(RCI).

OR

4. 2 year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.EI.ED) or Graduation. 

Age Criteria: Applicants should be between 18 to 35 years.

Nagaland Teacher Eligibility Test Syllabus:

Child Development Pedagogy: Child Development (Primary School Children): Understanding Children with the special needs, Concept of Inclusive Education and Learning Pedagogy

Mathematics: Numbers, Algebra, Mensuration, Geometry, Arithmetic, Shapes and Spatial Understanding

Language I: Perception-based questions for language development

Language II (English): Understanding based question in English and advancement of language

Social Sciences/Social Studies: Social and Political Life Geography,History etc.

Environmental Studies: Habitats,Water Natural Resources, Solar System, Air, Parts of Body, Food Resource and Care, Our Surroundings.

Ques 1. I want to apply for Nagaland TET. So, I need to know about the age limit?

Ans: Age limit to apply for Nagaland TET:

  • General male and female- 35 years.

  • OBC male and female-38 years.

  • SC / ST male and female-42 years.

However, relaxation of 3 years is given to OBC applicants and 5 years to SC/ ST applicants.

Ques 2. If I clear Nagaland TET and still in my final year of Bachelor's Degree, am I eligible to apply? 

Ans: Applicants who are appearing in the final year of Bachelor Degree in Education or Diploma in Elementary Education etc. are temporarily admitted and their Nagaland TET Certificate shall be confirmed only on passing the aforesaid Examinations.

Ques 3. What type of question can I expect in the Paper-II of the Nagaland TET exam? 

Ans: The questions in the tests for Paper II will be based on the subjects of the prescribed syllabus of the Nagaland State for classes VI to VIII but the difficulty standard  could be up  to the senior secondary stage.

Ques 4. What are the minimum marks to qualify?

Ans: Nagaland TET Qualifying Marks

  1. For category except SC/ST/Differently abled/ PH - 60% (90/150)

  2. For SC/ST/Differently abled/ PH - 55% (83/150)

Ques 5. What are the minimum marks to qualify?

AnsThe criteria for considering pass in Nagaland TET are as given below:

a) OC 60% Marks and above

b) BC 50% Marks and above

c) SC 40% Marks and above

d) ST 40% Marks and above

e) Differently-abled (PH) 40% Marks and above

Ques 6. I have done a diploma in elementary education may I eligible for secondary teacher exam?

Ans: Yes you are eligible. The candidate who has Senior Secondary / Higher Secondary (or it's equivalent 10+2) with a minimum of 50% marks and has finished a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.EI.ED) can apply.

Ques 7. Is a B.Com B.Ed student eligible for the Nagaland TET?

Ans: If you have 4 years of Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.EI.ED) degree than you are eligible for Nagaland TET.

Ques 8. Is there any relaxation in the qualifying marks for ST/SC?

Ans: Sc/ST/OBC/Differently Abled Category candidates have the advantage of 5% relaxation in marks.

Ques 9. I have completed B. Sc Microbiology, am I eligible?

Ans. To be eligible for the course, it is expected that along with the graduation, the candidate must have done a teaching course. Thus, you are not eligible. 

Ques 10. Does a BCA student apply for Nagaland TET?

Ans. No, besides graduation, the candidates must also have done B.Ed/B.El.Ed from a recognized university.
