The Peoples Education Society Scholastic Aptitude Test (PESSAT), also known as PESSAT, is a national-level entrance examination conducted by the PES University, Bangalore. The exam is conducted for admissions to various undergraduate and postgraduate design courses offered by the university. The courses offered under the Design Aptitude Test are Interaction Design, Product Design, and Communication Design.

PESSAT is conducted once a year and in offline mode.

Selection ProcedureThe candidates wishing to qualify PESSAT must clear the following stages:

  • Written Test

  • Interview

Exam PatternThe PESSAT  DAT test is an Offline (pen and paper-based) test and the total duration of the test is 02 hour (120 minutes). Candidates are advised to bring sketching pencils, erasers, pens, and a portfolioThe detailed examination pattern is as follows:-

Personal InterviewThe shortlisted candidates from the Written Test are called for the Personal Interview round. The selection of the candidates is based on the performance in the Written Test as well as the Personal Interview.

PortfolioAll candidates are required to bring their portfolio with them at the time of interview which is examined by Faculty and Advisors. A portfolio describes the enthusiasm and work of candidates in a particular field.

Eligibility:

  • There is no age limit.

  • Candidates are advised to refer to the website as well regarding the same.

- Educational Qualification:-

  • Candidates must have passed 10+2 with an aggregate of 60% marks having English as a mandatory subject in Science, Humanities, Commerce or any other stream. Or

  • Candidates must have passed 10+3 Diploma with an aggregate of 60% marks having English as a mandatory subject.

  • Candidate must have a valid score in PESSAT DAT or UCEED.

Syllabus: The questions are asked from the following subjects:-

  • Basic English

  • Basic Knowledge of Color and Form

  • Sensitivity to Aspects of Typography

  • General Knowledge

  • Spatial Sense

  • Ability to Imagine/Visualize

  • 3D Visualization

  • Natural Laws and Basic Engineering

  • Free-Hand Sketching

  • Basic Analytical Ability.
