The Peoples Education Society Scholastic Aptitude Test (PESSAT), also known as PESSAT, is a national-level entrance examination conducted by the PES University, Bangalore. The exam is conducted for admissions to various undergraduate and postgraduate design courses offered by the university. The courses offered under the Design Aptitude Test are Interaction Design, Product Design, and Communication Design.

PESSAT is conducted once a year and in offline mode.

Conducting Body: The Peoples Education Society Scholastic Aptitude Test (PESSAT Design Aptitude Test) is a standardized test conducted by the PES University, Bangalore. The below-mentioned detail is regarding the B.Des program.

Exam Pattern: The PESSAT  DAT test is an Offline (pen and paper-based) test and the total duration of the test is 02 hour (120 minutes). Candidates are advised to bring sketching pencils, erasers, pens, and a portfolio. The detailed examination pattern is as follows:-

Note: There is no provision of negative marking.

- Personal Interview: The shortlisted candidates from the Written Test are called for the Personal Interview round. The selection of the candidates is based on the performance in the Written Test as well as the Personal Interview.

- Portfolio: All candidates are required to bring their portfolio with them at the time of interview which is examined by Faculty and Advisors. A portfolio describes the enthusiasm and work of candidates in a particular field.

• Candidates must have passed 10+2 with an aggregate of 60% marks having English as a mandatory subject in Science, Humanities, Commerce or any other stream. Or

• Candidates must have passed 10+3 Diploma with an aggregate of 60% marks having English as a mandatory subject.

• Candidate must have a valid score in PESSAT DAT or UCEED.
