Indian Army Havildar (Surveyor Automated Cartographer) Selection Procedure:
There are two stages through which the candidates need to go through. The first stage is Screening and the second is a written test.

Screening:- The candidates go through screening after which they are issued the admit cards for the written examination. The Screening process includes the checking of the original certificate, a physical fitness test and followed by a medical examination at the respective headquarters Recruiting Zone.

Written Test- The written test is different for different streams. The exam paper contains two separate parts.
Indian Army Havildar (Surveyor Automated Cartographer) Exam Pattern:
For Science Stream: The time duration of the exam is 2 hours.

Note:- For every wrong answer, there is a provision of negative marking of 0.25 marks.
Indian Army Havildar (Surveyor Automated Cartographer) Eligibility Criteria:

Age Limit:- 20 to 25 years. For Serving Combatants on Remuneration, the age limit is 28 years.

Educational Qualification:- 10+2 and Graduation with mathematics subject or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as main subjects.

Medical Standards: The candidate needs to possess the following medical standards:-

Robust Physique and stable mental health
-
Well developed chest with 5 cm minimum expansion
-
Normal hearing with each ear
-
Natural number of teeth i.e., 14 dental points with healthy gums.
-
Should have no deformity of bones, hydrocele, piles or varicose veins.
-
Remusteration candidates are exempted from recruiting medical examination at the time of recruiting rally.

The Remusteration candidates must be in the medical category SHAPE-1

Ques 1. What is meant by Surveyor Automated Cartographer trade in the Indian Army?
Ans. They are the people who make maps for the army which are based on a survey of the ground. They also work on updating the maps made long back.
Ques 2. What does a Havildar (Surveyor Automated Cartographer) do in the Indian Army?
Ans. You will be an NCO in the Corps of Engineers and as the name suggests you will be involved in a survey of terrain and map design for operations in both peace and war.

Ans. Army conducts the exam for cartographers every year. You need to apply online after notification is published. The minimum educational qualification is graduation in BA/B.COM/B.S.C./B.E. Ans. Indian Army Havildar (Surveyor Automated Cartographer) are the people who make maps for the army which are based on a survey of the ground. Whereas HMT or Havildar Major Technical. It is a rank equivalent to Havildar/Sergeant/Petty Officer. Havildar Major is an appointment given to Havildar. HMT is an appointment in EME [ Electronic and Mechanical Engineers ]given to Havildars who have mastered the specialized trade i.e. repairing Motor vehicles, aircraft, guns, and other equipment. They wear a wristband on the right hand with Ashoka Chakra instead of three stripes on the sleeve.
