Anurag Thakur, Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting, has informed about the approval to establish a Central University in the Ladakh Union Territory. The University has been approved by the cabinet at a cost of Rs. 750 crore.

He also added that this university will address regional imbalances in higher education and stimulate intellectual current within the Union Territory.
