Indian Govt to Fill Over 3,400 Civil Service Vacancies

In a recent update, the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of India's Parliament, has provided information about various job openings in government services. As per the statement given by Union Minister of State for Personnel, Jitendra Singh, the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) has a total of 1,365 vacancies, the Indian Police Service (IPS) has 703 vacancies, the Indian Forest Service (IFS) has 1,042 vacancies, and the Indian Revenue Service (IRS) has 301 vacancies.



The process of filling these vacant positions is currently in progress, and the central government is responsible to make the recruitment process more efficient.

Jitendra Singh mentioned, "To fill vacancies in the IAS and IPS promotion quota, the Union Public Service Commission collaborates with state governments to conduct selection committee meetings."



He further shared that the intake of IAS officers through the CSE has been raised to 180 until CSE-2022. Similarly, the intake of IPS officers has been increased to 200 starting from CSE-2020. Additionally, the intake of IFS officers has been set at 150 for the year 2022. Regarding the Indian Revenue Service, 301 vacancies are intended to be filled through CSE-2023.
