The Karnataka Govt has taken the decision to reopen pre-university and degree colleges across the state from Feb 16. These institutions were shut due to the hijab row.



The Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai took the decision at a meeting attended by Home Minister Araga Jnanendra, Higher Education Minister C N Ashwath Narayan, Primary and Secondary Education Minister B C Nagesh, among other senior officials.



Last week, the Karnataka High Court, in its interim order, had requested the state govt to reopen educational institutions and restricted all the students from wearing saffron scarves, shawls, hijabs, or any other religious flag within the classroom.
