Chair M. Jagadesh Kumar said that the University Grants Commission (UGC) will allow students to write exams in their local language even if the course is offered in English, arranging persons and translating textbooks.



The Commission also called on universities to encourage the use of local languages ??in the process of teaching and learning. “The new National Education Policy (NEP) prioritizes the promotion and regular use of the Indian language in education.” It emphasizes the importance of teaching and learning in one's native and national language.



“It also emphasizes the need to optimize communication in all Indian languages ??for the enhancement of cognitive abilities and the development of the overall personality of the learner,” said Kumar.



Noting that the academic ecosystem remains English-speaking, the UGC chief believes that when teaching, learning, and assessment take place in the local language, student engagement will gradually increase and success rates will increase. I explained that it would be higher.
