UNICEF has appealed to South Asia countries to fully resume their schools before the consequences on students' learning takes a catastrophic turn.



Over 400 million students have been affected by the classroom shutdowns in India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, and other nations as the schools have been shut for an average of 32 weeks since the start of the pandemic.



The UNICEF regional director for South Asia George Laryea-Adjei, "The remarkable achievements our region has made in advancing child rights over recent decades are now at risk".
