Overview
JK SET stands for Jammu & Kashmir State Eligibility Test and is organized by the University of Kashmir. JK SET is conducted with the aim of hiring eligible applicants for the post of Assistant Professors/Lecturers in the state of Jammu & Kashmir. This exam offers a great opportunity for interested and eligible applicants to make their careers as Assistant Professors/Lecturers. This exam is held across two centers in the state namely Srinagar & Jammu & in 37 different subjects. This exam is held yearly.

Before 2012 Jammu University was the Nodal Agency to held the JK SET but, after 2012 it is the University of Kashmir which is the conducting authority of JK SET.

Jammu & Kashmir State Eligibility Test Selection Procedure:

The applicants selection process is done based on the performance in the JK SET Entrance Exam conducted by the University of Kashmir.

Candidates is shortlisted on the basis of marks scored in the Entrance Exam.

Jammu & Kashmir State Eligibility Test Eligibility Criteria:
Educational Qualification:
Applicants who have given OR will be giving the qualifying Master degree examination and who are still waiting for their result OR candidates whose qualifying examinations have been delayed may also apply for this Test. Nevertheless, such candidates will be accepted temporarily and shall be counted qualified for the award of eligibility for Assistant Professor only after they have passed their Master degree examination or equivalent to no less than 55% marks (50% marks in the event of Reserved Category Applicants). Such candidates must qualify their P.G. degree examination within two years from the date of SET result with required percentage of marks, failing which they shall be treated as disqualified.
Age Limit:
There is no minimum upper age limit .

Ques 1. What is the minimum percentage criteria for SC/ST applicants?
Ans: The minimum percentage for the reserved category such as SC/ST is 50%.
Ques 2. What are the eligibility criteria for the third gender applicants?
Ans: Applicant applying from the third gender in other words transgender category would be suitable to draw the same relaxation in fee, age and qualifying criteria for SET as are open for to SC/ST/PWD classification.
Ques 3. What is the size of my scanned photo, signature and other documents?
Ans: Applicant must upload a scanned photograph, signature, and caste/disability certificate if relevant in jpg/jpeg format only. The size of the photograph should be within 15 kb to 50 kb, Signature should be within 5 kb to 20 kb and certificates should be within 50kb to 200k.
Ques 4. Is there any mark relaxation for Ph.D. degree holders?
Ans: Candidate with a Ph.D. degree and who have completed their Post Graduation before September 1992 are suitable for the relaxation of 5% in minimum mark limit. They should have a minimum of 50% in place of 55% marks.
Ques 5. What are the minimum qualifying marks required for JK SET?
Ans: The qualifying marks for JK SET 2019 is 40% (General Category) and 35% (Reserved Category)
Ques 6. What's procedure to change my exam center?
Ans: JK SET subject and Exam Center once submitted cannot be changed.
Ques 7. Is there any negative marking in the JK SET exam?
Ans: Each question carries 2 marks. For every correct answer, you can score 2 marks and there is no negative marking.
Ques 8. How many times can I apply for the JK SET exam?
Ans: Applicants can apply as many times they want. No limit to the number of trials.
Ques 9. Where are the JK SET examination centers in JK located?
Ans. There are two Examination centers for candidates of the respective divisions:
i) Srinagar Center
ii) Jammu Center
