Finally, today, the Delhi Deputy Chief Minister, Mr. Manish Sisodia, presented the AAP governments' budget for 2021-22 in the state assembly. This time the theme of this budget was "Desh bhakti" which is "patriotism". The total amount of this budget was Rs. 69000 crores.

While declaring the budget, the deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia said that the present population of Delhi is around two crores, and the government is building infrastructure to cater to the population of Rs. 3.28 crore by the year 2047.

While giving his statement, he said that when he presented last year's budget, he was not sure about the upcoming situations. Even he was not aware that the government would be able to cope up with the pandemic situation or not. The lockdown has affected the business of work. During the pandemic, people have fulfilled their core responsibilities along with others.

Furthermore, the deputy chief minister stated that the Delhi government is planning to fund the budget expenditure by collecting a tax of Rs. 43 thousand crores. Last year, the government proposed to collect around Rs. 44,100 crore as the tax revenue. But due to the pandemic situation, this time, the collection is expected to be low from the target. Now, let's take a look over the major highlights of the Delhi budget 2021.

Highlights of Delhi Budget 2021-22 – What's in the AAP Govt.'s Desh Bhakti Budget:

First of all, the education sector was covered. According to Mr. Sisodiya, education needs to become a Jan Andolan in Delhi. For the development of the education sector, the fund of Rs. 16377 crores will be kept aside.

The government has also planned to start a voluntary mentorship program where the students will come forward to help other students. This program will be termed "youth for education".

A virtual model school will also be started by the daily government. In this school, the education will be normal like other schools, but no building will be there. This project will convey the message of any time learning. Even the deputy chief minister stated that the design of this project has already been started.

The government has also stated about inaugurating a New Delhi Law University in the capital.

Proceeding further, Sisodia stated about the new syllabus for students. He said that we are working towards making early childhood education part of the mainstream. This new syllabus for students' work is at its last stage.

Along with the education sector, the Delhi government has also allocated a fund of Rs. 9934 crores to the health sector.

Proceeding towards the health sector, Mr. Sisodiya said that the residents of Delhi would get free covid-19 vaccination in the government hospitals. A fund of Rs. 50 crores has been allocated for this vaccination drive. He added that in Delhi, they are having the capability of providing the vaccine to 45000 people per day. Further, it will be increased to 60000 people.

The government is also planning to open women's mohalla clinics across Delhi. There are cases that women usually ignore their gynecological issues, and it leads to major health care problems. Considering the same, the Delhi government has decided to start new women's mohalla clinics. Till now, it has been proposed to open around hundred such clinics in the city.

Mr. Sisodiya said that a budget of Rs.45 crores had been allocated for installing around 500 flags across the city. Before the 75th Independence Day, the government has decided to install the tricolor flag across the city like one in Connaught Place. It will keep the spirit of patriotism in every mind.

Along with all this, Mr. Sisodia also said that our government would celebrate the Contribution Given by Dr. BR Ambedkar and Bhagat Singh to our country. They will hold programs regarding the same, and a budget of Rs.20 crores has been allocated for this.

The declared budget is actually heading towards the vision of the Delhi government for progress till the year 2047. Mr. Sisodia said that till the year 2047, the per capita income of a Delhi resident would definitely be equal to the per capita income of for resident of Singapore.

He also added that now the government will open Delhi Armed Force Preparatory Academy where the children willing to join the army can get proper training.

In the upcoming two years, a water facility will be given to all the unauthorized colonies. Even the work on the intercept of sewage is nearly completed. In the next three years, Yamuna will be cleaned, he added.

Furthermore, he stated that the government of Delhi is also aiming towards having 1 EV vehicle charging station every 3 kilometers.

Mr. Sisodiya said that we have a dream to host the Olympics in Delhi, and for that, the sports infrastructure will be created.

He further added that the Anganwadi hubs would be inaugurated for the women to use in the afternoons as Saheli Samanvay Kendra. It will be just like an incubation center for all those women willing to start up their own small business. It will help the women to be self-sufficient and self-dependent as well.
