Around 18 lakhs of medical aspirants appeared for NEET UG 2022. The exam was conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) on July 17.



The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test is for all medical aspirants who wish to take a seat in medical colleges for undergrduate medical programs. Medical colleges include courses like BDS, AYUSH courses, and BSc Nursing. Cut-offs for MBBS are very high every year, including this year. That is why only a small percentage of medical aspirants will get admission to the MBBS program.



Due to Covid-19, medical aspirants appearing for NEET UG 2022 were asked to submit a self-declaration form with the admit cards demonstrating their health issues. Medical aspirants also had to paste a 4-inch x 6-inch photograph on their admit cards. Along with the OMR or answer sheets, students were required to submit their admit cards as well.



According to the National Testing Agency (NTA), the attendance for NEET UG 2022 was approximately 95%, and received the highest number of applications. Out of 18,72,329 medical aspirants, 10.64 lakh of them were girls.



NEET UG 2022 was held in 546 cities across India and 14 cities outside India. The timing of the NEET UG 2022 was 2 pm to 5:20 pm. Also, the exam was held in pen and paper mode. NTA will probably release the answer key for NEET UG 2022 today, July 18, 2022. Once released, the answer key will be available on the NEET official website. The students can check the answer key and give themselves a predicted score. The marking scheme of the NEET UG 2022 is as follows:





  • +4 marks will be given for every correct answer




  • -1 will be subtracted for each wrong answer




  • No marks will be given if the question is unattempted.





According to the statements of the candidates who appeared for NEET UG 2022, the exam was somewhat difficult but easier than the previous year's paper. Medical aspirants said that the Chemistry section of the exam was the toughest, while Biology and Physics were easy to attempt. Also, NTA gave extra 20 minutes to all the NEET students, which was very advantageous for all. While analyzing the paper, the plurality of candidates agreed that the Biology section was the simplest.



Also, no re-checking or revaluation facility will be provided by National Testing Agency (NTA). The answer key PDF will be available on the official website in 13 different languages- English, Assamese, Gujrati, Bengali, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Urdu, Hindi, Marathi, Punjabi, Telugu, and Oriya. The result of the exam NEET UG 2022 will be announced soon after NTA releases the answer key for question paper slots.
