Today, on the occasion of Shikshak Parv 2021, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the students, teachers and education stakeholders. He also launched key initiatives related to the education sector.

The Ministry of Education has organized the Shiksha Parv 2021. The Parv has also been organized by the Ministry to honour the teachers' contribution during pandemics and to launch new initiatives under NEP 2020, among others.

The Parv celebration started on Sept 05 and will continue till Sept 17, 2021.

The Prime Minister will also launch 05 initiatives including Talking Books (audio books for visually impaired), Indian Sign Language dictionary of 10,000 words, NISTHA teachers' training programme for NIPUN Bharat, SQAAF (School Quality Assessment and Accreditation Framework) of CBSE, and Vidyanjali Portal to facilitate education donors, volunteers, and CSR contributors for school development.

Along with the Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, the conclave will also be attended by Ministers of State for Education Annpurna Devi, Rajkumar Ranjan Singh and Subhas Sarkar.

PM Modi, in his speech, congratulated all the Teachers who have received the Award.

The initiatives are:

  • Vidyanjali 2.0 - It's a portal to facilitate education donors, volunteers, and CSR contributors for school development. The aim of the platform is to advance the country's resolve to 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas' with 'Sabka Prayas'.

  • Indian Sign Language Dictionary - The Indian Sign Language Research and Training centre of DPwD has launched the dictionary which contains 10,000 words. The dictionary can be accessed by children and persons with hearing impairments.

  • N-DEAR - The National Digital Educational Architecture i.e. N-DEAR will play a significant role to eliminate the inequality in education. The N-DEAR will serve as a super connection between all academic activities.

PM Modi also requested Olympians and Paralympians to visit at least 75 schools during the ongoing Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. This initiative will inspire and encourage the interested and talented students to participate in the field of sports.
