Staatsexamen Nederlands als tweede taal (State Examination of Dutch for Second Language) FAQs:
Ques 1. Can we take a dictionary in the exam?
Ans: For the reading and writing exams you can take up to 3 dictionaries – a Dutch-English, an English-Dutch and a Dutch dictionary.
Ques 2. I want to find a job in Netherland, is there any state exam which I can apply for?
Ans. Yes Staatsexamen NT2 Programma-I is for somebody who wants to find a job in the Netherlands.
Ques 3. I want to study at a university of applied science in Netherland, is there any state exam that I can apply for?
Ans. Yes the Staatsexamen NT2 Programma II is important for somebody who wishes to work or study at a Hogescholen (university of applied science) or one of the research universities in the Netherlands.
Ques 4. In the MCQ type question is it possible to have more than one correct answer?
Ans. No, As multiple-choice question exams, the criteria for marking Reading (Lezen) and Listening (Luisteren) section are straightforward, as there is only one correct answer per question.
Ques 5. When can I expect the result?
Ans. Usually, it takes 6 weeks to publish the result.
Ques 6. How can an applicant apply for the test?
Ans: The applicants can apply by visiting the Dienst Uitvoering Onderwijs (DUO) website.
Ques 7. Can a candidate apply in offline mode also?
Ans: To participate in the test, the only option is to apply in online mode.
Ques 8. How frequently is the exam conducted?
Ans: The exam is conducted on a weekly basis. The candidates are advised to refer to the website to know more about the dates.
Ques 9. What is the fee for the test?
Ans: For Language skills, the exam costs 4500 Euros per language skill and the overall cost is 180,00 Euros (applies to both the programs).
Ques 10. Can the exam be taken outside Netherland?
Ans: No. Since the exam cannot be taken outside the Netherlands, the list of the seven exam centers is given below:
