According to the information from the officials, the central government is in "mission mode" in order to fill job vacancies across its diverse ministries, and the next edition of the Rozgar Mela will be carried out on May 16, 2023, across 22 states.

Officials added that the employment drive would witness Prime Minister Narendra Modi distribute over 70,000 appointment letters to new recruits through video-conferencing. The prime minister established the Rozgar Mela scheme in October previous year. The May 16 edition of the recruitment drive will be conducted at 45 centres. This drive would also celebrate the day when the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) succeeded in the general elections in 2014, according to them.

The officials further informed that the recruitment procedure is likely to be sped up in the upcoming days as the government, which came to force in 2019, is in the final year of its tenure. The first Rozgar Mela was carried out on October 22, 2022, and 75,000 new recruits got appointment certificates. The second drive was carried out on November 22, 2022, and around 71,000 individuals got appointment letters.

The third edition of the drive on January 20, 2023, and the fourth edition on April 13, 2023, also noticed a similar digit of appointment letters.

The officials stated that all ministries and departments are working to fill existing vacancies in mission mode. They added that Union ministers themselves are monitoring the appointment letters and filling of vacancies in each ministry and department.

The appointments made in the recruitment drive so far contain Central Armed Police Force personnel, inspectors, sub-inspector, income tax inspectors, constables, clerks, tax assistants, postal assistants, stenographers, personal assistants, junior engineers, loco pilots, technicians, assistant professors, teachers and librarians among others. The officials added that the Ministry of Home Affairs filled a considerable number of vacancies in diverse Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF).

The Rozgar Mela recruitment drive is being done via recruiting agencies such as the UPSC, SSC, and the Railway Recruitment Board. Selection procedures have been streamlined for expeditious recruitment.
