All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and EduSkills Foundation joined hands to provide 1 lakh scholarships to students from tier-3 rural areas. The two parties will offer these internships in 12 different fields online. The internships will finish by July 31, 2023. This drive is the internship’s fifth cohort.

So far, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and EduSkills have obtained internship applications from students from multiple technical educational institutions. This internship programme seeks to deliver internship exposure to students from tier-3 cities and rural areas who lack tech opportunities. Through this collaboration, the internship drive projects to promote entrepreneurial orientation in students.

While commenting on the internship programme, Sitharam stated that I extend my genuine congratulations to all the appointed students on behalf of AICTE for achieving this significant milestone. This initiative can revolutionise technological education and bring about a transformative shift. AICTE seeks to grow these opportunities to rural and tribal students across India in order to modify India into a talent hub.

Further, Sahasrabudhe said this internship programme is a win-win situation for the industry and academia. This approach goes beyond being a mere training or prorgramme completion for the students; it also authorizes industries to profit from the fresh and innovative technical ideas brought on by young minds.

In previous years, four cohorts of internships have been arranged, during which 1,20,000 students concluded the internship opportunities.
