About General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM)

GNM or General Nursing and Midwifery is a 3 and half years duration course which is also known as GNM Nursing. This course is suitable for those who want to pursue a career in clinical nursing. General Nursing and Midwifery or GNM course designed for aspirants who want to pursue a career in clinical nursing. The programme teaches candidates how to care for individuals who are sick or have been injured in order to help them attain full recovery. Besides this the Nurse should have demonstrated skills of working with doctors, patients and other hospital administration, compassion with having excellent communication skills. A nurse should communicate both in medical jargon (with doctors) and in laymen’s term (with patients). Also, a nurse should possess strong organizational and management skills as a nurse is also responsible for maintaining patient records.
