In a historic election campaign, two Indian students were elected presidents of Babson College's undergraduate and graduate student unions. Khushi Chindarya, 20, from Surat, and Bhas Singh, 26, from Patna, were elected presidents of the Faculty and Graduate Government.

Khushi is an Economics student from Surat, Gujarat, and Basu is an MBA student from Patna. Both are responsible for representing student bodies, advocating for student interests, and working with university administration to improve the student experience as Chancellor.

Khushi and Basu received leadership development and career development training from Dexterity Global.

Sharad Vivek Sagar, the first Indian president of the Harvard University Student Union and founder and CEO of Dexterity Global, said his alumnus Babson to become president of his college's undergraduate and graduate student union.

Concerning Khushi and Basu

  • Khushi, 20, attends Babson College on a full scholarship as a Babson Global Scholar. Khushi was the only Indian student chosen from a pool of ten from around the world. The Rs. 2.5 Crore scholarship covers her entire tuition, room and board, books and supplies, health insurance, and personal and travel expenses for four years. Khushi previously worked as the Regional Ambassador for India for UNEP TUNZA Eco-Generation.

Speaking about the election, Khushi expressed her desire to collaborate with her colleagues to effect meaningful change for students. Khushi graduated from the Dexterity School of Leadership and Entrepreneurship when she was 15 years old.

  • Basu Singh is currently pursuing his MBA at Babson College as a Social Innovation Scholar, and he was one of three students selected for the scholarship, which is awarded to exceptional individuals who are committed to making a positive impact in their community.

Basu stated that as President of the Graduate Students Government, he is excited to work to create a welcoming and inclusive community for all students.
