CBSE- The Central Board of Secondary Education has notified the storytelling competition for the session 2022-2023. The storytelling competition is for all the students from Class III to Class XII. Registration for the competition will be done via the CBSE web portal- cbseit.in/cbse/web/story/Login.aspx. The last date to register is February 12, 2023.

After the school-level competition and choosing one best entry from each classification, the schools will enroll the student with the selected best entry.

The storytelling competition introduced by CBSE will have multiple levels- school level, regional level, and national level. Students can pick from a variety of unique and innovative topics, which the CBSR has listed for the competition.

Participation level

  • School Level: Schools will lead a storytelling competition, on their own, from January 17 to 31, 2023, for all categories and choose one best entry (in each category) in order to participate at the regional level.

  • Regional Level: The regional level competition will be held digitally from February 1 to 12 via the CBSE storytelling app. At the regional level, the best story from each category will be selected from each CBSE region. Winners will get an online merit certificate.

  • National Level: The most pleasing entries selected at the regional level will be assessed digitally at the national level by a committee of experts. The winners will get an online merit certificate.

How to upload a video?

Schools can upload storytelling videos for the regional level till February 12, 2023. Schools can upload videos using an android phone through the CBSE Storytelling App. Before uploading storytelling videos, schools must obtain a permission letter from parents or guardians of students whose videos are being shared.

The size of the video should be less than 2 MB. For the primary category (Class III to Class V), the duration of the video must be 2 minutes. For the middle category- (Class VI to Class VIII), the time of the video should be 2-3 minutes, and for the secondary and senior secondary categories (Class IX to Class XII), the duration of the video should be 3-4 minutes. The winners will be chosen based on creativity, expression, content delivery, fluency, and coherence.
