The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) has introduced the website 'National Academic Contact Point Ukraine'. The website offers extensive information and aid for Ukrainian researchers and students.

DAAD President Joybrato Mukherjee, at the website launch, said, "We currently assume that up to 100,000 Ukrainian students and researchers will need support and academic prospects in Germany". in the near future. To support them, adequately funded support programs and a central academic information portal are needed.

Mukherjee explained that the website 'National Academic Contact Point Ukraine' has been launched at the request of the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs of the Länder and with the assistance of the Federal Ministry of Education.

The academics and refugee students can access the website for information about their stay in Germany. Moreover, the website also provides them with a variety of support options from German universities and academic organizations.

The website provides information about university admission, studies and research, residence, and everyday life in Germany. It is available in both languages i.e. English and German, and a Ukrainian version is also being expanded.

For Ukrainian students, the objective of the website is to serve as a guide for the higher education system in German. The website also works as a platform for German research and higher education institutions to present their support in a structured and concise manner.

At present, around 60 support offers are already available on the website, which is constantly being updated.

The Director of Communications at the DAAD Ursula Paintner said, "Since the beginning of the Russian attack on Ukraine, the DAAD has already received and answered more than 1,000 inquiries through all communication channels".
