On the occasion of Teachers' Day, the Delhi government celebrated the Day as 'Abhar Diwas'. On this Day, the Govt also awarded 122 teachers who persistently served their duties during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia informed about the celebration.

The 'Face of DoE' (Directorate of Education) Award has been presented to a Music teacher who created a world record for playing non-stop sitar for more than 32 hours and a Maths teacher who aided Delhi government schools' students in cracking the IIT examination.

Sisodia said that the Delhi Teachers have played a significant role in the hard times of Corona. They have not only worked alongside the administration but have also served remarkably during the vaccination, in distribution of food, at quarantine centres, airport duty and mask enforcement, added Sisodia.

At the same time, the teachers were also performing their teaching duties online, he added.
