Anurag Singh Thakur, Union Minister of Youth Affairs & Sports, will launch the Nationwide programme of Fit India Freedom Runs 2.0. The Programme will be launched as part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav from Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium, New Delhi. Minister of State of Youth Affairs and Sports Nisith Pramanik will also be present during the campaign.
The Fit India Freedom Runs 2.0 programme will be organised, along with Delhi, in 9 other locations across the nation. The iconic locations include The Cellular Jail, Port Blair, A&N Islands; Chandrashekhar Azad Park, Allahabad, UP; Kaza post, Distt. Lahaul Spiti, Himachal Pradesh; Chitralekha Udyan (Cole Park), Tezpur, Assam; Gateway of India, Mumbai; Attari Border; Leh; Chennai and Jhansi Railway Station where Fit India Run events are being organized by CISF, CRPF, ITBP, SSB, NSG, BSF, NYKS, and Railways.
Anurag Thakur will interact with the participants virtually at these locations.

The aim of the programme is to encourage people to adopt fitness activities in their daily lives and to relieve them from obesity, stress, laziness, diseases, anxiety, etc. Through the campaign, citizens will be advised to make a resolution to include at least 30 minutes of physical activity daily in their lives under "FITNESS KI DOSE AADHA GHANTA ROZ".
Each week programmes will be organized in 75 districts and at 75 villages in each district and this will continue till Oct 02, 2021. Thus, the programme will be organized in 744 Districts, 75 villages in each of these districts and 30,000 Educational Institutions across the nation.
Through this initiative, over 7.50 Crore citizens will be taking part in the run.
The key activities include pledge, Freedom Run, rendering of the National Anthem, cultural functions, and awareness among Youth to take part. Interested people can register and upload their run on the portal of Fit India at fitindia.gov.in and can also promote freedom run on their social accounts with #AzadikaAmritMahotsav and #Run4India.
