From November 16 Union Education Ministry Will organise ‘Kashi Tamil Sangamam’ Month-long Programme
More than 2400 Tamil people in 12 groups from different sections of society would visit Kashi for eight days to get familiarised with the ancient knowledge shared by two cities- Varanasi and Tamil Nadu. These sections include spiritualism, academics, trade, philosophy, agriculture, entrepreneurship, commerce, artisanship, and arts.

From November 16, 2022, Union Education Ministry will organise Kashi Tamil Sangamam- a one-month-long programme to rediscover the centuries-old bond of knowledge and ancient civilisation connection between Varanasi and Tamil Nadu.
Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan addresses the media about this programme in New Delhi. Mr. Pradhan said that more than 2400 Tamil people in 12 groups from different sections of society would visit Kashi for eight days to get familiarised with the ancient knowledge shared by two cities- Varanasi and Tamil Nadu. These sections include spiritualism, academics, trade, philosophy, agriculture, entrepreneurship, commerce, artisanship, and arts.
Union Minister stated that these people would come from Rameshwaram, Coimbatore, and Chennai by train. He added that seminars, discussions, and lectures would also be carried out during the programme.
On this occasion, Mr. Pradhan also launched a website for the registration process for this month-long event.
AIR correspondent reports that the programme will be carried out under the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat framework envisaged by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT Madras) and Banaras Hindu University will be hosting partners of this mega event.
