In collaboration with the Goa government and New School, the Goa state higher education council organised the digital Goa youth summit (DGYS). The initiative seeks to offer 10,000 Goan students with industry-focused technological education for comprehensive training and upskilling. The ceremony was carried out at Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium.

The event allowed more than 5,000 students to discuss the latest trends and possibilities in the technology industry. The summit also introduced the digital Goa scholarship program to support students pursuing bachelor's or master's in any background to get job opportunities in tech firms.

Newton school will organise a 12-week coding and mindset boot camp from March 31, 2023, as a part of the scholarship. The boot camp will develop aptitude and K-10 level maths and logic needed to learn to program. The workshops are developed for students to perform live projects while being a part of the larger coding community globally.

Once the boot camp is over, the students can register for its flagship 6-month long stack development course free of charge and learn from industry professionals from Google, Microsoft, and Amazon with added emphasis on one-on-one training and mentorship. Students will also get 100 percent placement help with over 2,000 hiring associates.

Pramod Sawant, Goa chief minister, said I am happy that Goa State Higher Education Council, Directorate of Higher Education, Government of Goa, in partnership with Newton School, is introducing this scholarship program, which aims to help Goan students to become tech professionals. The scholarship programme will offer students access to courses that will improve their talents and make them ready for the industry, thus allowing them to contribute to the development of Goa's tech industry.

Newton School founders Nishant Chandra and Siddharth Maheshwari said the Digital Goa Scholarship Programme is a project that aims to empower thousands of Goan students to follow the profession of their dreams. As the founders of Newton School, our idea has always been to bridge the skill gap in the tech industry by delivering quality education to aspiring developers and professionals. Our collaboration with the Government of Goa is a milestone in our journey towards constructing the India Tech Powerhouse of the world. We consider that the Digital Goa Scholarship Programme will benefit the students and contribute to the development of the tech industry in Goa. By producing a trained workforce, we expect to attract more businesses to invest in the state and contribute to its financial development.
