The Indian Institute of Technology, Bhilai, has forged a significant partnership with the Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD), the German Academic Exchange Service, through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This collaboration aims to fortify their shared scientific interests and promote increased cooperation between India and Germany.

The MoU symbolizes the acknowledgment by both institutions of the pivotal role of academic and scientific collaboration and underscores their joint commitment to nurturing strong relationships between students and researchers. The bilateral exchange programme established between DAAD and IIT Bhilai seeks to elevate collaboration between the two institutions and German universities or research bodies.

Professor Rajiv Prakash, Director of IIT Bhilai, emphasized the significance of this collaboration, noting that "this partnership will facilitate a two-way transfer of knowledge, enhancing the strength of our research collaborations."

Under this partnership, reciprocal visits are planned, allowing up to three faculty members from IIT Bhilai to visit German universities. Simultaneously, faculty from Germany are invited to embark on research stays, which may also include lecturing activities. Researchers are encouraged to explore a variety of disciplines and may engage with the partner institution for up to three months.

The expected outcomes of this collaboration encompass:

• Promoting the exchange of knowledge and raising awareness of critical issues and topics by facilitating crossflow between countries and universities.


• Encouraging in-depth discussions on real-world problems from fresh perspectives, offering students valuable insights from faculty members across the globe.


• Undertaking collaborative studies on subjects of mutual interest through agreed-upon modalities.
