The brainstorming session by the sectoral professionals brought out fundamental challenges that every sector may face in the long run of 2047 and their potential technological and policy-related solutions.

Parameswar K Iyer, officiating director of IIT Guwahati, said the North East region is endowed with rich biodiversity, and every state has unique agricultural products with the opportunity to tap into the world market. However, the issue is that they perish before they reach the market due to a shortage of storage facilities and additional allied amenities. Facilitating an ecosystem of allied technologies, promoting technology-aided development, and skilling manpower in niche technologies will deliver thrust for this region and make it an engine of growth in numerous sectors.

During his address, Pradeep Srivastava, Executive Director, TIFAC, said during Amritkal, on the orders of the Hon’ble Prime Minister, TIFAC has started the procedure for drafting the Technology Vision 2047 document with the broad vision of achieving Technology Impendence by 2047.
