IIT Jodhpur's Initiatives:

1. Clean Drinking Water: The institute has provided clean drinking water to rural and remote schools in collaboration with the Jal Jeevan Mission under the Ministry of Jal Shakti. They focus on capacity-building, outreach, research, and education to enhance sustainable water sources in rural areas.

2. Smart Graded Water Supply Grid: IIT Jodhpur has developed a Smart Graded Water Supply Grid on its campus, serving as a model for advanced water supply technologies and sustainable practices.

3. Air Quality Study and Novel CODE Air Sterilizer: In partnership with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR)-National Institute for Implementation Research on Non-Communicable Diseases (NIIRDC), the institute conducted a study on indoor and ambient air quality in Jodhpur. They developed a novel air sterilizer, named CODE, which reduces the risk of airborne pathogen infections in indoor settings.

4. Thar Design and Desert Ecosystem: Through the "Thar Design" initiative, IIT Jodhpur collaborates with various institutes to comprehensively study the Desert Ecosystem and undertake pilot projects.

5. Medical Technologies Programme: Collaborating with AIIMS Jodhpur, this program brings together doctors and engineers to accelerate the development of medical technologies through co-mentoring.

Beyond these endeavors, IIT Jodhpur regularly organizes Open House events for students and the public to experience technology and innovation firsthand. The institute also engages in outreach activities across India, including Rajasthan, through exhibitions, lectures, workshops, and training sessions to spread knowledge and awareness.

Their ongoing "Sirohi Model Pilot Project" has positively impacted communities since May 2019. They've conducted 12 workshops on antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in rural areas of Rajasthan, addressing the local community's needs.
