IIT Kanpur to host the 5th National Students' Research Convention From March 3 to 5

The Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (IIT Kanpur) will soon organise the 5th edition of the (NSRC)- National Students’ Research Convention from March 3 to March 5, 2023. The theme of the three-day annual event 2023 is MedTech and Healthcare: The Welfare of Humanity.



IIT Kanpur's Academics & Career Council hosts the National Students’ Research Convention (NSRC) in order to showcase innovative ideas and research in academia and industry. The programme also equips students with opportunities to connect with industry leaders and faculty and gain an understanding of their fields of interest via presentations and talks.



Competitions and awards are essential for National Students’ Research Convention (NSRC) to function. Students can participate in the three-day event by sending abstracts of their work for various themes at nsrc.anciitk.in till February 22, 2023.



These themes include the following:




  • Biomaterial, Biomechanics, Biofluid-mechanics, Biophysics

  • Medical imaging, Medical devices, Medical instrumentations, Medical sensing and implant and personalized medicine

  • Drug delivery, Cancer Biology, Immuno-engineering, Neuro-engineering,

  • Evolutionary biology & computational bioengineering



Talking about the National Students’ Research Convention (NSRC) 2023, Professor Abhay Karandikar, Director of IIT Kanpur, said the pandemic emphasized the need to have a healthcare system in place and the critical role that technology can play in making it more efficient. There are cutting-edge innovations taking place in this area. These things are why medtech is the focus of NSRC 2023 this year. We hope that NSRC 2023 will thrill our young students.



An official statement read that one of the highlights of the convention also includes workshops, and this year’s convention is no different. Design Thinking: An Agile Tool for Medical Device Prototyping, led by MedTech Laboratories of the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, will be hands-on training on medical device manufacturing, manufacturing engineering, and rapid manufacturing.
