Over 1,500 institutions from across the globe have submitted data to participate in the 4th edition of the Impact Rankings.



The IR 2022 is open to any university that offers either undergraduate or postgraduate level programmes.



The Impact Rankings measure the progress of the global universities towards the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals. It includes 18 tables i.e. 01 for each of the 17 SDGs and 01 for the overall ranking.



This year, a total of 1525 universities from 110 countries/ regions have submitted the data for the rankings, which is a 23% more than last year.



The growing participation rate shows the expanding importance of the SDGs within HE institutions.



In the rankings, Russia tops on the number of submissions with 103 universities, for the 2nd consecutive year, up from 86 last year. Japan is second with 84 institutions, whereas Pakistan has secured 3rd place with 66 institutions, rising from 39 in 2021.



Both India and Turkey are 4th with 64 institutions and Thailand and the UK share the same spot with 55 participating institutions, rising from 26.



Excluding SDG 17 i.e. partnerships for the goals, SDG 4 i.e.Quality Education has once again received the most submissions with 1181 institutions which was followed by SDG 3 - Good Health and Well-being with 1103 submissions, and SDG 5 - Gender Equality with 939 submissions.



The Impact Rankings 2022 will be launched on April 27 at the 'THE Innovation & Impact Summit'.
