The Govts of India and Australia are working together to establish a task force to develop qualifications recognition arrangements between the two nations. This arrangement will help in enhancing two-way mobility across the countries.
The Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi and his Australian counterpart Scott Morrison has announced this collaboration on March 21, 2022.
This task force will aim at enabling and promoting the recognition of blended and online learning, joint degrees, and offshore campuses.
The Minister for Education and Youth Stuart Robert informed that the task force will consult with stakeholders to identify the opportunities to recognize the Australian and Indian higher education qualifications and will make recommendations accordingly to upgrade arrangements based on best practices and principles in recognition.
Through this tas force, the two countries are aiming to pave the way for upcoming opportunities for graduates from both countries to use their education.
Stuart Robert also said, "This collaboration will serve both countries by expanding cooperation in education, and optimising mobility outcomes for Australian and Indian students and graduates, and our educational institutions".
He further added that the improved arrangements will also promote trade in professional services between both the nations.
The Australian Strategy for International Education 2021-2030 will also be supported under this collaboration. This Strategy aims to nourish bilateral education cooperation on the recognition of Australian qualifications to assist the sustainable growth of high-quality education services of Australia offshore.
