India-Australia Visit to Enhance Higher Education Sector, Deepen Engagements to Empower Youth

Today, Australian education minister Jason Clare will sign the broadest and most favourable recognition agreement with India in order to improve student mobility between both countries. The Australian education minister and officials of 21 Australian universities visited India on a four-day visit to discuss cooperation between the two countries in the education sector.



Jason Clare said in a statement said the visit delivers an essential opportunity for Australian universities to showcase new collaborations and strategies, which they can deliver in India, including prospects for joint degrees and campuses.



Today, on the first day, the Australian education minister will participate in an event at Delhi University College- Venkateswara College. The Delhi University college is conducting a programme on- Deepening Ties through Two-Way Mobility.



Jason Clare said Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and I will sign the Mechanism for the Mutual Recognition of Qualifications, which locks in the regulations for mutual recognition to access education in both countries.



Jason added that the University of Wollongong’s initiative with (GIFT City)- Gujarat International Finance Tec-City is a fine example of a partnership that constructs skills and capacity to tackle future challenges.



The delegation will contain Australian Vice-Chancellors and other higher-education administrators, including those representing institutions such as the University of Queensland, Australian National University, RMIT University, University of Wollongong, University of NSW, University of South Australia, University of Sydney, La Trobe University, Western Sydney University, Central Queensland University, and the Charles Darwin University.
