The Prime Minister of Australia Anthony Albanese has announced that his govt has finalized the 'Australia-India Education Qualification Recognition Mechanism' with the Indian government.

PM Albanese, on his visit to India, while speaking at a programme, announced that an international branch campus will be set up by Australia's Deakin University at GIFT City in Gujarat's Gandhinagar. He further added, "There is a significant development in our bilateral education relations. I am pleased to tell you that we have finalised Australia-India Education Qualification Recognition Mechanism".

According to the new mechanism, the Indian students who is completing or have completed their education in Australia, their hard-earned degree will be recognised whenever they return home, he added. He further said,"If you are a member of Australia's very large Indian diaspora -- 500,000 and growing -- you will feel more confident that your Indian qualification will be recognised in Australia".
