Karnataka, Chandigarh, and Manipur Outperformed in Diverse Categories in NITI Aayog's 3rd Indian Innovation Index
In the Third NITI Aayog India Innovation Index, Karnataka stood in the first position again in the Major States category, Chandigarh was the top performer in the Union Territories and the City States category, and Manipur topped the Northeast and Hill States category.

In the Third NITI Aayog India Innovation Index, Karnataka, Chandigarh, and Manipur have outperformed in their separate categories. Suman Bery, NITI Aayog Vice Chairman, released the index in New Delhi in the existence of NITI Aayog CEO Parameswaran Iyer and Member Dr. V.K. Saraswat. The Indian Innovation Index is an all-inclusive mechanism for the growth and evaluation of the country's innovation ecosystem. It ranks the States and Union Territories according to their innovation performance to build healthy competition amidst them.



Karnataka stood in the first position again in the Major States category, Chandigarh was the top performer in the Union Territories and the City States category, and Manipur topped the Northeast and Hill States category.



Speaking about the event, Mr. Suman Bery supported building an innovation culture in the country, saying an enormous investment from diverse stakeholders will play a significant role in achieving the triumph. Mr. Bery stated that advancing living standards be conditional on productivity, and it can further be augmented with innovation only as an innovation culture helps national economic development. NITI Aayog Vice Chairman commented that innovations have the power to address various environmental challenges facing many countries. Further, Dr. V.K. Saraswat added that innovation is the key to sustainable and inclusive growth. He said innovation has the ability to bring millions of people out of poverty, generating livelihood opportunities and paving the way for an Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
