Macquarie University signed an MoU (memorandum of understanding) with India’s MIT-World Peace University, which aims to promote joint research programs, study tours, and staff exchanges.

On 29 November 2022 in Mumbai, the two institutions signed MoU in the existence of Vice-Chancellor and President of Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia- Professor S. Bruce Dowton, and Vice-Chancellor of MIT-World Peace University, Pune, India- Dr. R.M Chitnis.

The MoU includes credit transfers and articulations in STEM and Management programmes in order to support the next generation of executives by improving their organisational skills and technological expertise in tandem.

Apart from the advantages of student exchange, study tours, and collaborative research programmes, students will also be qualified for direct entry to a one-year master's or a combined arrangement for Undergraduate and Post Graduate degrees at Macquarie University.

Vice-Chancellor and President of Macquarie University Professor S. Bruce Dowton said this exciting new partnership would capitalise on the proven academic prowess of both universities to deliver educational opportunities via access to a wide range of courses in business management & STEM.

Speaking about the partnership between the two institutions, Vice-Chancellor of MIT-World Peace University, Dr. R.M. Chitnis,said the purposes of Macquarie University of being specific, progressive, and transformational resonate so well with the catchphrase of MIT World Peace University to impart value-based and holistic education for life modification of its students to become socially responsible global citizens. The academic partnership between the two Universities will surely bring the synergies together for mutually profitable outcomes for all the stakeholders, the students, faculty members, and partner institutions.

The partnership aims to construct stronger links between STEM and management via the delivery of joint lectures, workshops, conferences, and short-term programmes.

Students who register for these courses will have the opportunity of completing their first few years of learning in India before shifting to Australia to finish their program of study at Macquarie University.
