The All India Council for Technical Education has directed all universities and technical institutes to advertise National Awards for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities. The AICTE has also directed institutions to start applications and nomination processes from PwD students, faculty, and staff.



Interested candidates can nominate or apply through the official portal developed by the MHA (Ministry of Home Affairs) at awards.gov.in. The application/ nomination process will continue till Aug 28.



The shortlisted candidates will be honoured on Dec 03 on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.



As per the latest notification of AICTE- "An advertisement for inviting applications for the National Awards for the year 2021 and also for the year 2022 has been published in the national/regional dailies dated 14 July 2022. Accordingly, the applications/nominations for the Awards have been invited through online mode only on the password-protected centralized portal designed by the Ministry of Home Affairs (www.awards.gov.in)".



Interested candidates can also check the detailed guidelines for the initiative on the department's website at disabilityaffairs.gov.inand on award portal at awards.gov.in.



The National Awards for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities has been founded by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt of India. The aim of the initiative is to focus public attention on issues faced by persons with disabilities and to encourage their acceptance into society.
