Plaksha University and Cornell University signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) to facilitate student exchange.

On April 25, 2023, Plaksha University signed a memorandum of association (MoA) with Cornell University, based in the United States of America (USA). Both universities signed a Memorandum of Understanding to facilitate research collaborations, student exchange, and global classrooms.



"We are very excited to sign an MoA with Cornell University as it gives Ashoka the opportunity to work with Cornell faculty and its other Hub partners in a unique model," said Vanita Shastri, Dean of Global Education & Strategic Partnerships at Ashoka University. This will open up opportunities for collaborative research for both students and faculty."



"We are thrilled to be collaborating with Ashoka University, a world-class institution with outstanding faculty, many of whom hold Cornell PhDs." The Memorandum of Understanding we signed confirms Ashoka as a Global Hubs partner, and we hope to create collaborative and diverse opportunities for student and faculty exchange, joint research, and program development," said Wendy Wolford, Vice Provost for International Affairs and Robert A. and Ruth E. Polson Professor of International Affairs.



According to a university statement, the MoA will also facilitate international academic exchange, the development of academic and scientific relationships, and the support of collaborative research activities. Rudra Pratap, Vice Provost for International Affairs at Cornell University, and Ruth E Poison from the Department of Global Development at Cornell University announced the MoA yesterday at the Mohali campus on April 24, 2023. Plaksha University's official press release also stated that the partnership will allow the institutions to mutually explore visits by faculty members, students, and research scholars, will aid in joint research, information exchange, and development projects, will assist students in exploring internship opportunities at the institutions' laboratories, and will pave the way for future collaboration.



"We are proud to have established this partnership with Cornell University," said Rudra Pratap, founding vice chancellor of Plaksha University. It is completely consistent with our goal of addressing global grand challenges. This collaboration will provide our faculty and students with access to cutting-edge facilities at both institutions."
